"The performances fused Mendelssohn’s composition with a theatrical performance presented by the puppeteer Daniela Wick, who brilliantly animated the human-scale puppets made of paper."

"creating an impressive visual treat."

Hailing from Barcelona, Spain puppeteers Anna Fernandez and Santi Amal have developed the Per Poc into one of Europe's leading puppetry companies. Bringing orchestral repertoire to life with gorgeous puppets and thrilling choreography, Per Poc's productions are beautiful animated stories for children yet visually stimulating shows for adults.

Founded in 1989 Per Poc has found a special niche developing full-size puppetry with symphonic programs. Collaborations with orchestras have taken them across Europe, and to Russia, Taipei, Turkey, Egypt and Panama. They have collaborated with such orchestras such as Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Wiener Kammerphilarmonie, ORF Radio-Symphonierorchester Wien, Orchestra della Toscana, Italy, Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, Orquesta de Extremadura, Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, Orquesta Sinfónica de Bilbao, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, Orquesta Sinfónica de Euskadi, Real Filharmonía de Galicia, Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia, Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Panamá, Orquesta Joven de Santo Domingo, Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá, Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, Orquestra Simfònica de Cadaqués, Orquesta Sinfónica de Córdoba, Cairo Symphonic Orchestra, and Bilkent Symphony Orchestra.

In their approach to music, the Per Poc company has produced shows for symphonic works such as Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream; Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet and Peter & the Wolf; Stravinsky's Soldier's Tale; and The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky. Their newest production, Stravinsky's Petrushka premiered in fall of 2016 with l’Orchestre Philharmonique de radio France to critical acclaim.

In addition to symphonic programs, the elegant yet simplistic puppet designs appeal to children's festivals and concert halls of all sizes.  Their productions have been presented by international theatres such as Wiener Konzerthaus, Groben Saal; Haus des Rundfunks, Berlin; Auditorium Maison de la France, Paris; Teatro Verdi de Florencia, Italy; National Music Children Theatre Natalia Sats, Moscow; Teatro Real de Madrid; Gran Teatro del Liceu de Barcelona; National Concert House, Taipei-Taiwan; Palau de la Música Catalana, Barcelona; Grec Theatre, Barcelona; Cairo Opera House; and the Paul Klee Museum, Switzerland.  Per Poc has been invited to such festivals as Festival Internacional de Música Castell de Peralada; Festival Musiques au Palais Perpignan-France; Festival Mozart de La Coruña; International Music Festival of Canary Islands; and 54 Festival de Música de Pollença.

Per Poc create custom puppets for each of their productions. By using mixed mediums of fabric, wood, paper, metal, and hundreds of colours and textures, their puppets bring some of the most poignant stories to life. The puppets fight hard, dance gracefully and give life to the emotional underpinnings of the story through movement and visual dynamics.
