> GRYPHON TRIO RETURNS TO BRITISH
COLUMBIA!
> AKAM RETURNS TO THE CANADIAN FALL
CONFERENCE CIRCUIT
> SOLIDARIDAD TANGO NOMINATED FOR
TWO CANADIAN FOLK MUSIC AWARDS
We’re thrilled to announce that the critically acclaimed Gryphon Trio will be touring four cities in British Columbia this coming November 2025—and they can’t wait to reconnect with audiences in each one:
Vernon (North Okanagan Community Concerts Association) — November 13, 2025
Abbotsford (Valley Concert Society) — November 14, 2025
Maple Ridge (Candlelight Concerts) — November 15, 2025
West Vancouver (Kay Meek Arts Centre) — November 16, 2025
For many audiences these will feel like homecomings. The Gryphon Trio has a cherished history of performing in these communities—before—and this time, they're bringing a program of familiar and new works. In an era where live connection feels especially precious, this tour is about more than music—it's about community.
A Message from the Trio
“Returning to Vernon, Abbotsford, Maple Ridge, and West Vancouver fills us with excitement,” says the Gryphon Trio. “We look forward to reconnecting, sharing musical stories, and building on the rich memories we’ve had in these places. These concerts are our way of coming home.”
The fall marks the start of the performing arts conference season, and Andrew Kwan Artists Management (AKAM) is back on the circuit, attending two major events this year. Director Andrew Kwan will at BC Touring Council’s Pacific Contact, held this year on Vancouver’s Granville Island. After missing the 2024 edition in Kelowna due to a family emergency, Kwan is especially eager to reconnect with the dynamic network of presenters and colleagues across British Columbia. Later in the season, AKAM heads to Alberta Showcase in Fort Saskatchewan, AB, in support of Prairie Debut, who will be featuring Solidaridad Tango—AKAM’s powerhouse, all-women quintet—as part of their 2026–27 touring roster. Solidaridad Tango will perform as part of Alberta Showcase’s official Saturday evening showcase, offering a taste of their fiery, genre-defying artistry. Whether reconnecting or forging new partnerships, AKAM looks forward to strengthening its ties with presenting networks and arts professionals across Western Canada.
AKAM’s global music ensemble Solidaridad Tango is quickly garnering a lot of attention. Last winter, the Canadian Folk Music Awards (CFMA) proudly announced the nominees for the 2025 edition. Solidaridad Tango’s album Distancia was nominated in two categories: New/Emerging Artist(s) and Instrumental Group.
Established by Canada’s vibrant and internationally recognized folk music community, the CFMAs currently boast 20 categories. Nominees are chosen for each category through the first of a two-stage jury process. More than 100 jurors from across Canada, representing all provinces and official languages, determine the recipients in each category.
